Tara's Angels is a unique service. We fundraise to provide victims and their families with a personal caseworker for a period of up to 2 years - at no cost to the victims. Each Tara’s Angel acts as a counsellor, mentor, guide, trusted friend and rebuilder of lives. Angels are tertiary qualified social workers with a minimum of five years experience in social work.
They have a direct therapeutic role, and also help to rebuild lives by assisting victims to navigate the confusing myriad of services and bureaucratic processes they’ll face.
Our commitment is this: Tara Costigan Foundation is to family violence, what the McGrath Foundation is to breast cancer.
We are working with existing service providers to grow Tara's Angels into a national service that will ensure cohesion, cooperation, consultation and collaboration across the family violence services sector. The Tara’s Angels service adopts a holistic approach to victims of family violence. Tara’s Angels does not only focus on the primary victims of family violence - they also provide support to their children, families and friends.
By connecting and coordinating vital services, Tara’s Angels work with women and families to help them get the support they need.
If you can offer a service to the Foundation, get in touch with us today.
